This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
O.K. GUYS- I'M OFF. DA REMOVED 'CENSORED BY DEVIANT ART' MY FREEDOM OF EXPRESSON HAS BEEN ATTACKED. THERE WAS NOTHING TO BOTHER ANYONE IN THAT PICTURE, EXCEPT DEVIANT ART.
I'VE HAD ENOUGH. YOU CAN READ MY MESSAGE TO DA BELOW....
IT'LL PROBABLY BE MY LAST ONE HERE UNDER THIS GUISE... BUT I'LL BE BACK FOR REVENGE. (OR MAYBE I'M ALREADY HERE)
o.k. I've read the policy, but you still haven't offered a clear reason as to why this picture is objectionable. I did submit the same picture, but with a white patch over part of the picture saying ' censored by deviantart'- it was not possible to see any face or genitalia, or breasts, or any kind of nudity whatsoever, but you still removed it- saying now that you need a model release- again- I ask- (bearing in mind that i am a professional photographer, so model releases are not new to me) why does this picture need a model release when others from the same shoot have not needed one? why? because you cannot see the face- therefore- why is a model release needed? the person was not identifiable! ( by the way the model is my wife- the same 30 year old model that I have used in all my pictures! and in none of them can you see her face. )
in no other site on the internet, and in no other media will you need a model release if you cannot identify the person- example- you don't need a model release for an arse, or breasts, or even eyes.
Basially, you can do what ever you like, but it seems to me that deviant art is too keen to accept payment for a subscription, but is unable to follow this with acceptable standards of service, so I'm out of here. I'm taking all my pictures down and leaving deviant art. it seems to me that if you treat serious subscribers the way you have treated me, you won't be around for long, so nevermind. good luck.
ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! i'm so f..... sorry! Up to now I really liked this place, but it seems that my model's vagina caused the 'powers that be' to get offended.
this raises all kinds of questions regarding the nature of art, and our responsibility as viewers of art to turn away when we find something that upsets us- instead of being forced to hide it away where no-one else can see it.
My deviancy named 'look'- has been removed from my gallery by someone who has not introduced themselves- reasons? evidently a 'policy violation'-
I don't understand which policy my model and I have violated- possibly, due to this being a shot which features a vagina. Perhaps a cross on the model's T shirt in combination with this pose has caused offence?
I wonder if Andres Serrano's 'piss Christ' would also have violated this policy? what about other works which have challenged the limits of what we consider acceptable?
The fact is, I'm very p****d off about this- What makes A vagina more offensive that a penis? and more offensive than breasts? naked women, blood, War images?
I thought this place was about expression and freedom in art. If you don't like something, you don't have to look- surely that is the purpose of the 'mature content' marker- it becomes an audiences' responsibility to choose what they see.
regarding the remarks about pornography by the deviant art representative- in no way will I allow you to label my art pornographic! I know what pornography is, and there is a clear distinction between it and my work.
I'm seriously considering cancelling my subscription and removing my work from here.
